I. Introduction
Thanks for checking out MacArmyKnife (MAK)! MAK is a project that is on an evolutionary path. It is meant to be a "catch all" for mini-utilities and things that other apps don't do. You might find something to help out users, developers, and everyone under the sun. So launch the app, and see what it can do for you! If you find it has something of your liking, then please don't forget it's shareware. If it doesn't have anything you need, then check back in a future rev, as we might have added something you need. If there is some utility-esque function that you think it's crying out for, please send us your suggestion. We can't guarantee it'll be implemented, but it can't hurt to ask!
MAK Requirements: System 8.0 or later, and a PowerPC Macintosh.
II. What's New To This Version (2.3.1)
New Features:
Added a Big Clock window ... because you just never know when you might need a big clock!
Merged into a single binary for Classic (Mac OS 9 native) and Carbon (Mac OS X native) environments. This offers the best performance and feature set for each platform. This is possible due to Eric Grant and his FATCarbon Codewarrior plugin: http://home.earthlink.net/~eagrant/FATCarbon.html
Feature Enhancements and bug fixes:
File Attribute Editor - Added ability to edit a file's "Version" resource.
Ascii Table - Fixed option dragging information from the table (removed garbage from dragged text).
Ascii Table, Mac Errors List - improved drawing when dragging information from the tables.
Value Converter - Added many representations of popular developer data types, such as NumVersion, Date/Time, Fixed, Point. Fixed bug in displaying the Byte field. Added "Next Prime" and "Endian Swap 16" buttons. The long field also will now allow pastes of very large, negative numbers (such as -2147024809).
QuickSuck - The display field can now show html with line feeds converted to carriage returns for easier viewing. Fixed the horizontal scroller to properly show text. Also fixed a bug where Mac OS X users could not save retrieved data to a file.
Alarm, EggTimer and Stopwatch - closing these dialogs when a task is active now causes an alert to be put up to prevent accidental quitting of the application.
Tables - The selected cells in many tables in the application were not drawing correctly on Mac OS X. Now they do!
Launch Process function - Fixed for Mac OS X.
Improved overall appearance of dialogs and controls on Mac OS X.
Improve compatiblity with older OS versions (8.1) and machines.

IV. About Chaotic Software
What is Chaotic Software all about?
We (Bob Bradley and Jason Giles) had many software ideas we wanted to release to a wider audience for test and use, and decided a company was the best way to go about it. So we formed this partnership that will, from time to time, produce new software products that we want on our Macs. Our main purpose is not to reinvent the wheel, but present solutions in certain areas of the software industry that we feel are either beleagured by featuritis, or have poor or no implemenations available.
